Chestnuts, the edible kind, are grown here in Michigan. They take a lot of work. About 10 years ago, my imagination took off while looking at them in a 1,000# bin. Those tails of theirs seemed to be taunting me about the fact that they needed so much care, and that I wouldn't have time to do my art. So, that day I drew them and haven't stopped since! This is a picture of their spring clean up efforts in the field, as they go to great measures to find out why one tree may be failing.
